The ribbon seem like a bold step that was sure to find some resistance from the more conservative sectors. I hope that this does not deter Microsoft from implementing it, as it seems very innovative and is the most exciting feature in Office 2007. I, myself, find that the current applications look very "stale" next to the new Office 2007 UI. I'm sure that most people will get the hang of it very quickly and never want to go back.
