According to DLS reader
Adam, social networking site
Facebook has added a blogging feature that lets users "share thoughts and stories with friends" via a Notes page that they are assiduously not calling a blog. since recent entries will appear on members profiles and bloggers have the option to import their current blogs from as yet unnamed services, though, I say: if it quacks like an Afflack commercial... It's too early to tell, of course, if Facebook intends to embrace the full awfulness of MySpace, but it certainly seems like they may be headed down that road. Fortunately for me, I don't sign up for sites that don't offer any samples of their services--or even list their features and throw up some screenshots--so I won't have to deal with it.

I don't think there's anything wrong with adding features that are in common with MySpace, as long as they're done well. And from what I can tell, the Facebook notes/blog feature is done well. They give you the option to automatically synch with your LiveJournal, and the appearance is very simple and easy on the eyes. It seems to me like they're interested in taking the badly executed ideas of MySpace and doing them right.
