BabySplat - entertain your little one

BabySplatBabies and toddlers seem to love computers and keyboards. Any of you with young ones out there know exactly what I'm talking about. Although they might enjoy pounding on the keyboard of a computer that's turned off, it's even more fun to do it on a computer that's turned on. How many times have you discovered 18 programs running that you didn't start, icons moved all over the place, and everything just seeming like a giant mess because your young one got to it?

It used to happen in my house a lot. Now, we just lock the doors to our computer cabinets, but when we want to let our youngest play, we run BabySplat. It's a very simple program that just pops up colorful shapes on the screen with every button push, and makes a host of cute and strange noises. My only complaint is that BabySplat doesn't seem to block out the "system" keys like the Windows key and context menu key, so my little one still tends to get himself in "Windows trouble" now and again. But with supervision, he gets a real kick out of working on the computer like daddy. I have to admit, it's not a lot different from what I do...
