Google rolls out Blogger Beta
Google launched a new version of Blogger today. The new version entitled Blogger beta, has a bunch of features that people have been recommending since Google bought the popular blogging tool.The major new additions to Blogger beta include:
- Categorizing posts with labels
- Blog Readers - specify who can read your blog
- Appearance changing - templates, and managing changes without HTML

Too late. It has yet to match yet the features Wordpress.com has.
Blogger is the less @gmail.com account associated google product.
IMHO google should deploy it's own wordpress bloggin service with a import feature while keeping still blogger alive.
They should better to restart.

For a beginner, Wordpress.com is okay, but for someone who knows a bit of coding, I think blogger is the way to go, you can have a decent looking blog going in no time at all. Alternately, if you MUST have WP, I suppsoe doing your own install would be the best idea. I've yet to get my blog up, I was going to do an install of Wordpress but now I am seriously going to reconsider this and use a well-designed Blogger blog. I think someone needs to do a comparison for people like me who need to make a decision.

Ive used blogger before and yes it is maybe better than a free wordpress.com blog, but it dont beat hosting your own wordpress blog. Im running a K2 theme with a nice style i found on their forum, its great got some nice AJAX Commenting, live search, rolling achieves etc.
Dont see your be able to do that with blogger, And also there are loads of plugins for wordpress.

That's a valid point, again, if you're serious about blogging then hosting something, such as Wordpress, is definately a good way to go. At the same time, if the only thing you want to care about is the overall look of the blog and the content, then going for some free hosting with a blogger blog is a good way to go.
