Online Desktop Wallpaper Generator
Some web based applications are extremely simple, yet very useful. This is the case with Desktop Wallpaper Generator. Sometimes the ability to leave a note for someone that they can't possibly miss on their machine is just the ticket. Or maybe you're a network administrator that needs to leave reminders for your users, or make multiple machines on a KVM switch easily identifiable. Desktop Wallpaper Generator lets you create a nice-looking wallpaper that includes any text you write right in the image file. Note that it seems to only work in IE, and in my experience creating 800x600 images gave the best results.
Can you think of ways that you could make use of this functionality? Leave comments with your ideas!

I love it. It could be really useful for to-do lists. It´d be nice if you could upload your own background tough.

Can't you do the same thing with ms paint?

yeah and if you have a mac it comes with Stickies so there's no use for this except maybe the "cool" factor... hell i think Stickies are cool.

If you need to "make multiple machines on a KVM switch easily identifiable" I would recommend BGInfo from the boys at Sysinternals.

I would compile a weekly/monthly to-do list with the same. I would (also) personally like to control the background image.

In Firefox 1.5.0.6 on WinXP SP2, I get a spew of text but no image. Anyone else?

It does the same in Opera 9 here. It's probably because they're outputting a PNG image with the wrong mime type. IE ignores those so you get the image, other (correct) browsers display text.
