Yahoo! has just launched
Yodel Anecdotal, a new blog which, in its
first post, cheekily describes itself as "yet another self-serving corporate blog." According to Paul Stamatiou, a Yahoo! intern who built the site (and has written about its genesis
at his own blog), Yodel Anecdotal is "not the type of blog you visit to check if there's a new API for that JavaScript library you so dearly love nor is it the kind of blog you go to get info on the company's earnings reports." Rather, the site promises to "cover emerging trends, provide some behind-the-scenes commentary, profile interesting Yahoos, spotlight our beloved users, reveal some of our quirks, tap into guest bloggers, sprinkle in some videos and photo essays, and generally think out loud." Though there's currently only one post, featuring a breakneck MTV Cribs-style tour of Yahoo!, the site is soliciting "comments, quibbles, questions, suggestions" on Yahoo!'s products and practices.
