Meebo introduces 'meebo me' website widget

meebo me - website chat made easyFor those times when you want an easier way to connect with your blog readers/store customers/friends who can't access chat ports on a public terminal, Meebo has introduced a meebo me chat widget (runs in Flash) that can be embedded in any website. The meebo blog warns that it is currently pretty experimental, and I personally haven't tested it out yet myself, but here's how you set it up: head over to the meebo me site and customize your widget. The next step requires you to either create a meebo account, or enter your credentials if you're an existing user (it's free either way). Once you get the code to embed in your site, you then simply log into meebo.com to view site visitors and open yourself up to chat with them.

The setup is definitely painless (at least by comparison), and this sounds like a great way to make oneself more accessible to the adoring fans. Now someone needs to write an 'autograph widget' and we'll be all set!
