ActiveSync 4.2 released for all Pocket PCs
Microsoft has released version 4.2 of ActiveSync for Windows Mobile devices. On the system requirements page, they list basically every version of Pocket PC back to Windows CE OS version 3.0 (before they were even called Pocket PCs). I've installed it, and so far, so good. A few of the dialogs seem to have changed slightly, but overall the experience is pretty much as expected. [via JK]

One thing I learned about AS 4.2 when it was in beta; unlike previous versions there is no way (not even a registry hack) to change the location of the Synchronized Files Folder. Before you could edit a registry key to place this folder anywhere (even a network drive for example), now, it's forced into "My Documents".

AS4.2 seems to be causing problems, I want to change the Synchronized Files Folder, I have tried the registry hack, but when you dock the mobile device it puts the reg key back, this is a real pain, anyone know how to get around this ?
