How to quickly change a forgotten Windows password

Change Windows passwordLifehacker has a quick, handy tip for setting a new password on a Windows account if you've forgotten the original. Just open the command prompt (Start > Run > cmd) and type net user Username newpassword. If you don't want to get shoulder-surfed, type * instead of the new password and it'll give you a prompt that won't display the password you type in. You have to be logged in as an Administrator, of course, but unlike the Control Panel dialogue, you don't have to enter the old password. Easy and instantaneous.
