Google outbids Microsoft for Dell bundling deal
CNet's Tom Krazit is reporting that Google has outbid Microsoft for a bundling deal that will put Google's software on new Dell PCs, which I'm sure is causing some grumpiness in Redmond. In what is rumored to have been a billion-dollar deal, Dell computers will come with Google Toolbar and Google Desktop preinstalled and, perhaps most significant, searches in Internet Explorer will default to Google. In exchange, Google will pay Dell a fee for each install.[Via Engadget]

What is funny is that soon it will not matter much.
Next year PCs with Vista will have the desktop search integrated in the OS. It should be a no-brainer, since Google Desktop search is not better in any significant way.
