TaskBlaze productivity tracking application - Today's Free File
If you're looking for a simple way to improve your productivity and track exactly what you're spending your time on, give TaskBlaze by Brad Isaac a try. It's a free utility that simply allows you to enter a description of a task, along with a few categories (or "tags") related to that task, and it will track how long you spend on that activity. When you finish with the task, it will put an entry in your Outlook calendar showing the exact start and end times for the task, and associate any categories you gave to the item. This allows for better analysis of how you spend your time, after the fact. At first I was put off a bit by this behavior of automatically entering your tasks into Outlook as you do them, but I think this has a very motivational effect of pushing you towards using your time in productive ways at all times. It's harder to hide from the fact that you made a poor choice with how to use your time when it's right there in your calendar plain as day.
For free, why wouldn't you try it?

There must be a GUI glitch with supporting non-standard font sizes I have on my WUXGA laptop. Half of the GUI is hidden.

Cool. It's kinda like the timer feature Outlook has builtin in that seldom-used Journal.
Now when my boss comes over and asks why I don't have something he's waiting for done, then doesn't believe that I've been busy, I can just print him out the weekly view of my calendar and ask him where exactly he expected me to fit in that project...

I don't want to dld .Net and install it just to test if it can export to Excel, can anyone tell me if it supports csv export? I've read on the original page and found nothing mentioning csv export.

To the best of my knowledge, only Outlook exporting is supported.
