Intellitabs: Tabbed interface for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
I know a number of people who
spend all day with the same set of Excel documents open, and I suspect they'd all appreciate Intellitabs, an addon for Microsoft Office that adds a seamlessly integrated set
of tabs to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for fast switching between documents. With Intellitabs you can customize what
data is shown on the tabs and in their tooltips (e.g. author, word count, file size, etc.), and you can save a group of
tabs as a "session" so all of the documents can be opened at once. Intellitabs isn't free--it will cost you
$19 for the Standard edition of each flavor (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) or $29 for Professional, or you can get all three
Pro addons in a $49 bundle.[Via Office Evolution, image from The PC Doctor]

" integrated set of tabs to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for fast switching between documents"- this is the main feature that will make it popular. Switching between different programs is now a big hassle and if this addon (Intellitabs) can bring relief for the users then it is really a good news for millions of users.

Too bad Intellitabs guys are spamming Wikipedia with shameless advertisement:

Also, I tried this tool, noticed a severe lag when restarting Winword, so tried to uninstall it again, only to have the uninstall fail and leaving an empty menu item in Winword behind.

The free version of WordToys does much of what this programme claims to do.......save groups of dox in workspaces and 'tabs' along the bottom of all your open documents etc.

Does the new OneNote software from Microsoft use a tabbed interface? It appears so in a few of the demo captures I've seen...
