Apple joins Windows benchmarking group

Windows
on MacIn what seems like an odd move at first blush, Apple has joined BAPCo, an industry consortium that's in the business of Windows benchmarking. It seems less odd, however, when one considers recent unconfirmed rumors that Apple is working on virtualization software akin to VMWare that would allow Mac owners to run Windows on their Macs simultaneously with OS X (i.e. without rebooting). Gearlog, however, says that BAPCo's benchmarking suites SYSmark and MobileMark don't perform well under virtualization and that it's more likely we're talking about Windows running natively on Apple's Intel hardware.
