The battle for young
eyeballs isn't yet over. After Myspace,
wacko interface aside, got bought by
Rupert Murdoch for $500 million, it seems everyone else wants a piece of that action. So here comes the new old kid on
the block,
Facebook, now
officially for sale. BusinessWeek's astute observation that Facebook would be a match made in heaven with Viacom,
owners of MTV, VH1, and Nickelodeon. That's so obvious it hurts, but what remains to be seen is whether Viacom is
interested, or if they'll pay the nearly $1 billion bounty Facebook really desires. Wait, nearly a
billion?
Yep, Facebook has already turned down a $750 million offer from before. They don't think too much of themselves, do
they? Then again, they beat MySpace in SEOmoz's Web 2.0 awards, so maybe they are worth it...
