Install XP on Mac video tutorial

have to wonder what it's like at Apple right now, what with everybody and their grandma installing Windows XP on their Intel Macs.
Are heads rolling? Are doves being released into the sky? Do they even care? Well, if one thing's sure, it's that
installing XP on your Mac is only going to get easier, ergo this video tutorial from UNEASYsilence, which donated $500 to the
cause. The tutorial is about 12 minutes long, formatted for your iPod (a higher-resolution version is coming soon), and
pretty easy to follow.In related news, I'm pleased to report than OnMac.net (the home of the $13,000 bounty) has gotten a nice redesign, its forums are back up, and its wiki is coming along nicely, with a constantly improving HOWTO and a very handy FAQ for would-be installers.

What is the point of this?! I thought the whole point of getting a Mac was so you DIDN'T have to deal with Windows. What is the world comming to?

"everybody and their grandmother" -- yeah, both of them. What is so hard to understand? As the previous poster pointed out quite clearly, people buy Macs because they don't want Windows. Sure, for some people it may be cool or a challenge to get Windows running on a Mac, but then what? But more importantly: who cares?

i can understand the excitement of trying to hack the system so it can do something that it's not originally designed to do, but in reality, who cares?
like the others have pointed out, using a mac is so superior to using windows and that's why we buy them. i don't think the average consumer is super excited about being able to buy higher priced apple hardware so that they can run windows on it.
the other thing that people seem to miss is that this is a *dual-boot* machine. that means you have to shut down all your applications and active work and restart the computer to use windows. i don't know about other people, but i rarely reboot. one of the best things about os x is that you rarely need to. just keep all your apps running all the time. why would i want to stop all the work i'm doing just to reboot into windows...of course...the answer is games. so i guess for the gamers out there, this is great. for the rest of us, just get a second cheap pc with KVM, or virtual pc.

I think this is awesome. As someone who uses both Macs and PCs, it will be nice to be able to do both on one system.

To the person who said "what's the point of this?" I can see some uses for Mac only people. My brother for example only has Macs in his house. When he bought a slingbox a while back it required a pc to set up (at the time no mac support) he ended up hauling one of the PCs from the office home just to set it up. While he probably wouldn't use XP much at all, it would be nice when there is something that is PC only, you can still use it, even if it were to require a reboot.
