Flow is
a brilliant Flash game that's a sort of cross between Pac-Man and Nibbles, though that's hardly doing it justice.
There's no plot to speak of, but you begin the game as a sort of small luminescent organism and you must eat other
organisms to grow. You can go forward or back among the levels at will, but while the first levels are populated only
by benign, easily-digestible prey, the later levels are filled with more dangerous adversaries that you'll only be able
to defeat if you've out-evolved them. The game is unique in that there's no timer and no score display (your health is
represented visually in the composition of your organism), and though there's a final goal (I won't spoil it for you),
there's no real end to the game. Despite its simple premise and simple controls, Flow is a game that's immensely
satisfying to play and difficult to stop playing. Oh, and did I mention the graphics are gorgeous?

I played with this a little earlier last week after seeing a link on some other site. It's really cool and feel like a cross between Spore and Electroplankton. Great game!

What a gorgeous game! Took me a while to figure out how to (b)eat the other creatures, but it was funnn! I really enjoyed the visuals and sounds of this one.

Here's a stupid question--
Can you play a flash game offline? Can you save it to play it offline?
I ask because I have only played them while online, and I tend to leave them alone forever with the next page I surf.

Yes, Bud, most Flash games you can save to your hard drive and play offline. The easiest way to do this in Firefox is to go to Tools > Page Info, click on the Media tab, find the .swf file, and click Save As...
Once you have the .swf file saved, you should be able to open it in your browser and play it.
Some games, however, load data from the web during play, so not all can be played offline.

I played the game and ate everything I could find, but I never found a final goal. After I beat the tough organism on the "bottom" level and it broke into pieces for me to digest there was one that wouldn't move anywhere and I couldn't eat it.
I went up and down through the levels several times for at least an hour trying to make sure I didn't miss anything. But I never could eat that last piece.
I want to be spoiled. I'd like to know what the final goal is.
