
I remember
Studio Artist first being released several years ago. It was, at the time, quite
revolutionary, even at 1.0. Of course, at the time Painter was pretty new as well, and Studio Art is like Painter meets
After Effects. Studio Artist was extraordinary because it did a lot of automatic rotoscoping and visual effects—
like the effect you see throughout Linklater's "
Waking Life."
So version 3.5 is now available, though it looks like more of the same. What is very nice about the app is that, for
your $379, you get a ton of training videos. Right now it's only for OS X (although OS 8 and 9 versions come with the
CD, go figure). But it's a powerful tool for those of you willing to learn the interface.
