Almost every time I post a Firefox
extension that does something with tabs, someone comes along to inform me, "Tab Mix Plus does this!" Another
six usually come along to say "OMFG Opera dd it first!!1" but that wouldn't make a very good Browser Tip, so
let's talk about the former.
Tab Mix Plus is a Firefox
extension that can be handily described as the king of tab-tweaking extensions. It adds about sixteen thousand
(give or take) tab-related options to Firefox, many of which you'll find in other extensions, but Tab Mix Plus is the
only way to get them all in one place. It adds essential features like duplicate tab (and duplicate tab in new window),
undo close tab (or window), crash recovery, single window mode, and tweaks for just about every tab behavior Firefox has,
plus some handy keyboard shortcuts. Check out the
features guide (PDF)
to see if Tab Mix Plus has your pet feature, or head over to
Mozilla Update to grab
the extension.

Well as a Tab Mix Plus user myself I have to generally agree with you on all points except that TMP is the king of tab extensions.
That honor in fact belongs to

I find the most remarkable thing about TMP is the Session Manager feature. I used to use the Session Saver extension with Firefox and loading would take forever. With with TMP's Session Manager my load times have drastically decreased, plus I've been able to delete every other tab-related extension because TMP has so many features. Well worth the download.

Actually, Tabbrowser Extension is the mother of all tab extensions. (http://piro.sakura.ne.jp/xul/tabextensions/index.html.en) I've used TabMix Plus, and it just doesn't seem to me as well-behaved as TBE. For example, it may be just a conflict with another installed extension, but with TabMix, I often end up with tabs that won't close. Some complain that TBE is "bloated." Well, maybe. And, in the end, it the TBE vs. TabMix debate may be no different from the WordPerfect vs. Word debate--it may just depend on what you're used to.

Definitely the king of something, but it seems more like king of bugs to me. Every action taken that consists of existing tabs has successfully caused lock-ups and crashes in the one browser that I have never before had a single bit of problem with. Problem solved: Tab Mix Plus extension uninstalled.
