Though tab-switching
with the keyboard in Firefox is as easy as pressing Ctrl Tab, but for some reason I've always found that using this
method it's not very easy to find the tab you're looking for when you have many open.
Stack
Style Tabs is an extension that changes Firefox's Ctrl Tab functionality to something similar to Windows' Alt Tab
task switcher. When you press Ctrl Tab a menu with the titles (and icons) of your open tabs (nicely uncramped compared
to a full tab bar) pops up and remains visible until you release the keys. Pressing Tab with Ctrl held down lets you
select the tab you want and releasing Ctrl will switch to that tab. Excellent!

The "Tab Mix Plus" extension includes this feature, plus many other tab-related ones. It is now the only tab-related extension I have (got rid of Tabbrowser Extensions).

Hmmmm, looks exactly like what opera has been doing for years.

I use an even simpler method, though it depends on my mouse. I have a logitech mx1000, and using modified logitech setpoint drivers (uberoptions), i simply set the tab next and tab previous keyboard shortcuts to my scroll wheel tilt feature, which i rarely use.
This allows me to swich tabs by simply twiching the wheel to the left or right. Add a button to open links in tabs on click, and you have a no keyboard solution to navigation.
Best of all, since uberoptions makes the drivers app-specific, my normal mouse func returns outside firefox. This helps in other areas as well, especially in graphic programs like photoshop.
Still, a neat little extension.
