Breaking out of corporate network lockdown

CrowbarLifehacker's Gina Trapani has a short guide for those poor souls whose corporate networks won't let them install better software (say, Firefox) or surf the sites they want (say, Download Squad). Surviving IT lockdown isn't a terribly in-depth article, but gives you what you need to know. It boils down to using portable apps (which is also a nice way to bring, say, your bookmarks from home to the office) and picking one of a dozen ways to make your browsing unfettered and secure from prying eyes.
