Desktop Wallpaper Changer Power Toy - Today's Mod
Over
the past few months, we've given you quite a number of resources to check out for interesting and funky desktop
wallpapers. So now that you've got a bunch of favorites, isn't it a pain to go in and switch them manually?
Obviously somebody at Microsoft thought so too, so they created the Windows
XP Creativity Fun Pack PowerToys Wallpaper Changer. No, unfortunately I'm not kidding about that name.
The default behavior is that it will change your
desktop wallpaper every 30 minutes, but there are quite a few options to fiddle with.
Note that like most Microsoft downloads these
days, this download may require you to take part in Windows Genuine Advantage validation.

Wild how fast stuff can get onto Google -- I went looking for a replacement Wallpaper changer and downloaded this powertoy via google, just minutes before I read this post.

For those looking for a non WGA download (I have a genuine version, it came with my laptop, but I oppose the idea on principle) here's a direct link to a mirror:

I downloaded it but no instructions on where these options are located to pick wallpaper location or how to set up anything. When I installed it no help was given and I've looked everywhere but can't find the menu to switch around the options.

I used to use this Power Toy awhile back. I noticed, though, that some wallpapers looked like they lost some image quality and thought I'd find some other WP changer to compare it to. As I came to find out, it is absolutely and completely infererior to Winwall. It's free, smaller and can stretch ANY image into wallpaper and it all looks incredible. No loss of pic quality and even has a multitude of options. You can find it at http://www.desktopchanger.com/
