Vista will definitely be a success. They sell most of their copies through OEMs, and since you pretty much need a new PC to run it, it's quite convenient that way.
Then it won't take long before Microsoft kills support for XP (which came out a hair after Win2k, Win2K is already dead) And it will take one or two unplugged hole in XP to scape people away from it.
Plus, Vista is way superior than XP, packing even more shiny bling, transparent things, animated stuff and plenty of new wizards.
