Russell Beattie switches back to Windows
There are
plenty of Mac switcher stories out there, and even a few Windows switcher stories, but how about a
Windows-to-Mac-to-Windows switcher? That's Russell Beattie for you. Last January he bought a Mac mini and he's begun this year by buying a new HP. "First,
Apple hardware is more expensive," Beattie says, "and secondly the Mac OS will still always be mostly an
afterthought in the tech world. This is really the main issue. I always want to play with the latest and greatest tech,
and that stuff almost always comes second to the Apple platform." Way back in September he came up with a 33-item list on why he might switch back, and how he
has. For those considering the switch to Mac, or those considering a switch back, his both posts (and their comments)
are worth a read.[Via The Unofficial Microsoft Weblog]

Don't let the door hit you on the way out...
"Tech" isn't that called gaming - Windblows main use is gaming and virus development and implementation. Good luck with all of the poop-ups (pun intended)...
Maybe you can enter the "When is VISTA ever gong to show" contest.

from the center of the fence, and after reading all the comments on russ's pages, i have to observe that the mac-heads are often a rather pretentious, dismissive bunch and certainly not out to make friends or converts. they seem in a large part to be a rabid, foaming-at-the-mouth pack that i find i have no wish to be associated with. who knew the new crusades would be fought over an OS preference...
they both suck in their own little ways. they're both good in their own little ways. and isn't it funny, the world runs on windows and hasn't stopped running yet? mac, the barking chihuahua in the corner...

I think he did this to increase traffic to his blog, increase his ad revenues. Recently he reported that he's making $100 a day in ad revenue. What better way to get people to his site than bring up the age old pc vs mac debate.

"Waaaah! Apple included Garageband and iMovie, so I'm switching back to Windows because I'll never use them! It's too much pressure!"There's a couple of real, substantive complaints in that list surrounded by 30 petty, whiney complaints.
Whiney little punk! Get off my operating system!

I read the post. Tried to be objective, but it's hard. The guy had trouble using an iSight? To do what? That's the first time I've ever heard of someone having an issue with one.
This guy is just another 'consultant' type who wants to use the latest and greatest and be able to brag to his buddies about it. Leaving the Mac platform 'cause you can't use some flavor of the month video download service is nuts.
