LibriVox - Free Audiobooks from the Public Domain
LibriVox is one of those ambitious
projects that is just such a great idea, you hope that it will continue forever. What they’re trying to do is
get as many public domain books (books whose copyrights have expired) recorded as audiobooks in MP3 and OGG Vorbis
formats for free download. They have lofty goals: “Our goal is to record all the books in the public
domain.” It’s kind of like an audio version of Project Gutenberg. I
can’t figure out how they pay for the bandwidth to do that, but I’m happy they have a way.
