How To: control iTunes via a web browser
Got a home network with iTunes running on one machine and streaming music to the rest of the house? Tired of running back to that room every time you want to change the volume or skip to the next track in your playlist? Sure, you can control it via VNC. But for a more elegant (or at least a more DIY) solution, how about setting up a web server on that iTunes box, and using a few PHP scripts to control iTunes from any browser. Engadget's Eliot Philips walks you through the steps to make this happen. Even if you've never set up a web server before, you can be up and running in no time (Eliot's tutorial is Windows-only, though he does include a link that to another guide that will help you do the same on a Mac).

How about Itunes built in ability to share the library? No need to run all over. Just share the library, and voila! itunes running on any part of the network (assuming the same segment) will be able to play the same tunes.
