Paint.NET - Today's Free File

Looking for an open-source alternative to Photoshop, but can't get used to the quirky UI of the GIMP? Check out Paint.NET, which has just come out of beta. The program sports an interface that any Photoshop user will find familiar, and has most of the standard tools that come with most photo-editing programs. No, it doesn't have everything that Photoshop offers, but for a free program, it's remarkably feature-rich, and could be a handy tool for anyone who bristles at the high price of commercial image editors (however, as its name implies, it's Windows-only —though it's open source, so anyone who wants to port it to OSX or Linux can give it a shot).

If you look for an alternative to a frustrating search, check a free download of a windows-based Quintura Search at http://www.quintura.com
I wonder why it's still free, works much better than any others
