Microsoft has open source stricken from UN documents
One of Microsoft's cuter tricks in recent memory: The Redmond company recently had all references to Linux and open source software removed from UN documents, claiming that they are "anti-commercial." The document, called the Vienna Conclusions (2.8MB PDF), discussed issues around IT and creativity, and originally discussed the way open source is changing the way people do business. After Microsoft accused open source software of making it "impossible to make any income on software as a commercial product," the offending language was removed. The Free Software Foundation Europe, which was part of the committee which created the document at the UN World Summit on the Information Society, is of course throwing a fit. ZDNet UK has the details.[Via Slashdot.]

The UN gets no respect ... don't they have enough problems? M$ is being selfish, petty and anti-competitive.
Like asking a wolf to watch over your sheep, again UN absolutely gets no respect.
