Despite
rumors earlier this week that Firefox 1.5 was about to be released, the folks at Mozilla have dropped another preview version,
Release Candidate 3. According to the release notes, this version has a lot of fixes, including better popup blocking, faster navigation and improved Mac support. I suppose it's good to see Mozilla being cautious, rather than blessing one of these candidates as 1.5, only to have to quickly roll out 1.5.1 just to fix bugs. Still, let's hope the final version hits soon; as far as I can tell, RC3 is already more stable than 1.0, and users who've been cautious about upgrading shouldn't have to wait too much longer.

Personally, I'll wait a little while so my favorite extensions will have time for teething as well. I'm already sold on the "better at blocking popup" feature though.
Because, even if I did not mind getting another college degree, I sure would not consider the offer from the sneaky popup from the asses that purposedly try to defeat the popup blocking features of my browser. Like telemarketers that call me even though I'm on the DO NOT CALL list. Do they really think I'm going to be receptive? Think again!
