DTV drops the beta

dtvOne of my favoritest apps ever, DTV has a new version out, at 0.7. Sure, it's not a 1.0 release— I have a feeling they are waiting for the Windows version on that. Apparently the Windows version is pretty darn close though. It's based on VLC, and will play even more formats. Oh, and they are working on a Linux version as we speak.

The .7 release has the beta dropping from the name. Goodness abounds! What's new in this big update? Here's what they say:
  • A slick new interface for getting and watching a flow of videos.
  • No watch/browse tabs. The whole channel is in one place.
  • Faster.
  • Intuitive expiration means you don’t have to worry about disk space
  • Polished metal instead of brushed metal.
  • Simpler channel settings, and working preferences.
  • Hot new icon and .dmg background.
Remember that Participatory Culture's other app, Broadcast Machine, allows you to make your own internet TV station. You too can have your own media empire. So get cracking and send out that video!
