10 reasons to hate Unix
Had enough of Unix types gloating over the presumed superiority of their chosen OS?
Well, here's some ammo for you to use when you're ready to fight back. David Chisnall's "10 Things I Hate About U(nix)" highlights some limitations of the OS, many of which date back to its roots in the early 70s. Unfortunately, Chisnall's suggestion that "it's time to retire UNIX in favor of modern systems with a lot more horsepower," doesn't include any specific suggestions. Since both OSX and Linux would be on Chisnall's blacklist due to their 'Nix heritage, what's left, other than niche OSes (BeOS?) and —gasp —Windows XP?
