A fairly common wishlist item for Firefox is the ability to make the tab bar display screenshots of the page on each tab, and we've seen a couple stabs at it.
Tab Sidebar, however, is the best I've seen yet. Exploiting functionality available only in Firefox 1.5 (my condolences to those not yet on the cutting edge), Tab Sidebar replaces the tab bar with (you guessed it) a sidebar that displays each tab as a thumbnail screenshot accompanied by close and reload buttons. Simple and effective.

Before anybody asks, here's the answer:
Porn.
Question: What is this good for?

haha...That was my exact question frank...but i still don't really understand it...i've definitley been through my share of porn, and i don't see the point still, i mean, its only a thumbnail, so what does it help to differentiate between sites? and this doesn't necessarily have to do with porn either...but, you know..any help?

Combine this with the Tab Preview extension and you hardly have to look at your main browser window anymore.

I'm definitely going to try this extension, but not until the final release of 1.5 is out. Not sure if it'll help me differentiate between the dozen or so tabs open at the same time, but I guess it's worth a try. Looking forward to 1.5, but somewhat concerned about all my current extensions not working once I upgrade.

I believe Omniweb (www.omnigroup.com) was the first browser to have visual tabs. In fact, all tabs in Omniweb are in a drawer. Thumbnails can be collapsed and resized to fit more tabs.
