Mozilla's Extend Firefox competition

The Mozilla Corporation has announced a new contest to coincide with the release of Firefox 1.5. The Extend Firefox competition challenges developers to create extensions that "focus on enhancing the Firefox experience, especially those that take advantage of new features in Firefox 1.5." The grand prize, awarded to each of the top three developers, is an Alienware Aurora 7500 Firefox Edition PC (the mock-up at right isn't the final design) and some Firefox swag. There are also best-in-category prizes for Most Innovative, Most Useful, Best User Experience, and Best Integration with a Web Service, the winners of which will get an iPod Nano, a $250 O'Reilly gift certificate, and more swag.
