Blogniscient 2.0

Blogniscient has recently been redesigned, specifically to combat one of its users biggest complaints: that it was ugly. The new design is certainly more attractive, and also more usable. If you’re not familiar with this service, Blogniscient is a blog news aggregator, in the same vein as Memeorandum or Digg. Given the recent redesign, Blogniscient has been getting some attention by A list bloggers like Mike Arrington at TechCrunch, and Robert Scoble at his popular Scobleizer blog. Both seem to agree that at this point in time Memeorandum is the king of the hill for technology news, but Blogniscient has some power in that it currently tracks 5 major topic areas, including Politics, Technology, Sports, Entertainment and Business, and is beginning to add some subcategories. Currently it has added Poker to the Sports category and Venture Capital to Business. I’d really like to see Memeorandum’s engine applied to topics other than just politics and tech news, but until they do, Blogniscient and Digg will be my haunts for other types of news.
