TuneXP is a utility that collects a bunch of performance tweaks for Windows XP into one compact program. It should be noted that a few of the tweaks contained in TuneXP are somewhat controversial, such as Accelerate DLL Unloading and Clear Prefetch Folder, both of which can potentially lead to performance losses instead of gains, so it’s important to do your homework before applying any of the tweaks listed. I like TuneXP because it gives me a central place to go to apply all of the tried and true tweaks that I use on any XP system.

Interesting but why does a Windows XP tuner tool need to register fonts? I ran the setup 15 minutes ago and it is still trying to "Registering fonts..." as part of the "Performing Setup Actions (Not Responding)".
I just wish the other early adopters more luck than I seem to have.

Actually D-Force's TuneXP is quite old, I used this same version - 1.5 - back in 2003. That blurb about 2.0 coming soon has been up for years, I believe the site's been abandoned.
TuneXP is still pretty cool, but it needs some work since Windows XP SP2 came out - TuneXP used to get my machine to boot in about 10 seconds, by reordering boot files and defragging them. After SP2, I don't get any significant boot improvements, leaving me with a ~30 second boot. I believe the culprit is that Microsoft changed the desired order of boot files for security reasons, so the "Rearrange" feature as it stands now probably just scrambles things rather than optimizing.

Everything worked great except, like SoopahMan said, boot-time optimization. I think it actually made my boot time slower. I doubt there's any way to undo that. Otherwise, once I'm in everything's noticeably faster.
