When Apple released
Front Row
a couple of weeks ago, one of my gripes was the fact that it would only
run on the new iMac. I felt that if Apple wanted to create a media
platform to compete with Windows XP MCE, the company should make it
more widely available. Apparently, I wasn't alone, since a fellow named
Zeno has
already tweaked Front Row to get it to work on a Mac mini,
using a Bluetooth phone as a remote. I suspect this will be a popular
hack, since the mini is the perfect size to work as a living room
computer. Now, how about a hack to get the Apple Remote Control working
with a mini-hosted IR blaster!
