Free AppleScript Apps

freeosxappsnicoThere's a nifty collection of free apps for OS X at a .Mac user's page here. Nico's apps are a hodgepodge of clever tools, from a color picker (and a Widget version) to a Resize app for images that I use on a daily basis. Resize just does that one thing: resize an image proportionally by setting a horizontal value and dragging the image into a well. Great for blogging. I have set up my screen capture file format to JPEG and use Resize to just resave resized images. There are a lot of apps that do this (like Graphic Converter), but this one's free and the easiest IMO... A new app called Highlight allows you to drag-and-drop items for Spotlight to index. Something like the /System folder isn't hit by Spotlight, so here you can override that. Highlight will also show you an item's Spotlight info. There are more image tools, network tools, password, audio, and system tools as well. Keep in mind that many are designed for beginners to OS X. If you're really hard core you're going to ftp from command line, aren't you?
