
As it turns out, eDonkey hasn’t yet pulled the plug as a result of the Grokster Supreme Court ruling, although they got very close. It came down to a moment between founders Sam Yagan and Jed McCaleb, where they discussed pressing the button that would turn off the eDonkey network forever. With the weight of the Supreme Court ruling weighing down on them, they somehow managed to resist pressing the button. But now they’re looking for new ways to legitimize the file sharing service, through negotiations with the record industry.
