No OpenOffice 2.0 today

openofficeToday OpenOffice celebrates it's 5th birthday. Congrats! Sadly, the 2.0 release isn't quite ready. Developer Stefan Taxhet explains on his blog, "it would have been nice to release OpenOffice.org 2.0 at the 13th of October. But in the last minute a serious showstopper (#i55330#) has been brought up." Some problems with images, printing, and a couple of OS X bugs are to blame. It's nice to see them not rushing out a release with these in there, although I'm sorta chomping at the bit for a stable release of OO to recommend to friends (like that cheap one I know). The beta of OO has had rave reviews so far, and it supports OASIS, which is an XML-based file format recently adopted by the state of Massachusetts. Is Redmond worried? Probably not.
