OpenOffice.org to go Mac native (eventually)
After initially giving up on a native Mac version, the powers that be
at OpenOffice.org have reversed course, declaring that they're going to
"bite the bullet, and do the thing right, in Cocoa.
It’s gonna be a big tough job, but it’s worth doing." The native
version, when it eventually comes out, will replace the two current Mac
versions of OpenOffice: the X11 port, which isn't very Mac-like, and
NeoOffice/J, a Java port that isn't up-to-date.[Via TUAW]

I've been waiting for this for a long time. Thanks for the heads-up! Any idea how long the development will take?
