Australia's top intellectual property body
has ruled against representatives of Linus Torvalds
seeking to trademark Linux in the country. Property Australia official Andrew Paul Lowe declared that Linux was already a fairly generic term, and also questioned whether local lawyer Jeremy Malcolm was authorized to represent Torvalds. Ironically, Lowe also said that "Linux" was too similar to other terms that were already trademarked locally, such as IDG's LinuxWorld trade show. Gee, what a coincidence. Wonder where IDG came up with that name?

Whilst I do not know too much about this story (nor do I particularly care), I would like to point out that it is spelt "Aussie", not "Ozzie".
We are a country, not an aging rock star.

Let's see how long it takes for them to change the title of the post.
I'm guessing never.
