Odeo Studio Alpha is currently available for testing. What does it do? Oh not much, just turns podcasting into a one-click affair (mostly). Odeo has provided a web-based app, using Flash, that allows you to record your audio and instantly have it available as a podcast. No need to upload a file. No knowledge of RSS required. As Ryan calls it, "just click, record, and you're good to go." Word. Odeo is starting to make Apple look slow by comparison. Where is that record button on iTunes anyway?

i dont expect podcasters to be using Logic to record their shows or anything but...if something like GarageBand, Audition or Audacity is too complicated for you, you might be better off finding something else to do. you're not going to get a nice finished product if you can't use things like eq and compression or do simple things like mixing. podcasts' talk portions already sound bad enough as it is. it doesn't take much to learn dynamics processing and there are hundreds of articles online explaining the whole idea.
i don't mean to sound high-and-mighty or anything, i just figure that if you aren't dedicated enough to your podcast to spend time making it sound nice then your podcast is probably not worth listening to in the first place.
i also might just be bitter because i've spent far too much time in the studio to do a half-assed job and let myself get away with it :)

I have used the new Odeo Create feature. It is FANTASTIC. Although there is not nearly as much control as in a client side application, for people who know nothing about audio or podcasting, it really makes the process extremely simple. Although it seems that you must know about audio to podcast, you really don't and Odeo Studio reinforces this. The phone call in feature is very handy and will hopefully take podcasting in the same direction that blogs have gone in (first source of news).
