It's been in beta for a while, but it finally went gold:
QuickTime 7 is now available for Windows. It's only for Windows 2000 and XP (what isn't?), and requires at least a Pentium and 128 MB of RAM. Included in the Pro version is a minor workflow for
creating podcasts. With QT 7 Pro you can create a new audio file, and record audio in directly to your PC. Again in QT you can save it out as an MPEG-4, which supports chapters (like Engadget's latest
podcast). Wait, no MP3? That's right, QuickTime doesn't export MP3's. It does convert to and from numerous formats, and includes video/audio editing tools (Pro only, keep that in mind), and often will allow you to save movies off the web, but that MP3 thing is starting to bug me... Still, it's only $29.95. Linux users need not apply.

Smooth resizing (animated resizing) sucks on my windows machine...and my system is pretty hauss - when you change sizes, it like stretches one direction, then the other. What gives? It works beautifully on my 1.5 yr old PowerBook!
