MacJams.com has announced the third set of their "
Five Weeks of Free Loops" series. I know each ~22 MB set of loops are compatible with GarageBand, but I'm not sure if they work with any other OSX apps like Soundtrack or Pro Tools. (Anyone care to sound off?) The first set is an "Urban Style" series of drum, bass and synth loops, but I haven't played with the second or this new third set yet. They're all licensed for non-commercial use, although MacJams is a music sharing community for amateur and aspiring musicians from which I've heard a couple have scored record deals. (No promises though!) So check out the
free loops they've released so far, have fun with em and keep your ears peeled for the final two installments in the coming weeks.

I have them working in Sony's ACID XPress, so I'd bet they work in anything that can take AIFF files. I wish I'd known about this before, these are great loops!
