Windows desktop shell replacements have been around for a long time. I Used to use BBLean for about 3 months some time again, but when you install it as your default shell opening up explorer file manager can be rather lagged, this shell would be great if there was a freely available filemanager replacement that does not rely on anything other than simply being installed. Apart from that BBLean is a great shell to play around with if you are up for a change, the multiple desktops is a great feature you wont want to leave :-)

so i can use sth like this to avoid explorer freezing all the time?
or is there already a fix for preventing a frozen explorer?

if your looking for an explorer filemanager replacment use xplorer2 its simply the best there is and they have a free non-commercial version avaliable too. Just google xplorer2

I've been using BBLean with xplorer2 for about a year now and i couldn't be happier. I would never go back to explorer...

i mean the explorer.exe, isnt it a know issue that it freezes and needs to be ended and restarted for no reason?
