Chatalog for OSX iChat archives chats in Mail

Now here's an interesting new concept: storing chat correspondence from iChat on OSX in your email application. How about easy indexing and searching of links and images that are sent and received to boot? Chatalog from Freeverse makes this all possible, and while their site uses the generic term "email program," I only see Apple's Mail being used in their screenshots, and I don't have any other email clients installed to test with (Nope, not even Office/Entourage, thank you). What's even cooler is not only do they have a widget for Tiger uers, but these chats, links and images that are indexed from iChat's history can have rules applied to them for even greater organization. Looks sweet, although I bet the $12.95 price tag might knock it out of the running for the typical iChat user.

Cool idea but I have enough crap for Mail to sort through already without tossing hundreds of iChat logs in there. Be nice to have a solid and searchable iChat log database app.

You should check out IMSmarter: http://www.imsmarter.com
Especially handy if you chat from more than one computer, but even if not, it goes well beyond logging.
