Audio Content Management System
If you've been looking for a simple way to start podcasting, check out Loudblog. Loudblog is a content management system (CMS) for syndicated audio content on the web - otherwise known as podcasts. It's not a full-featured blogging platform, but then it's not intended for that. If what you're looking for is a dedicated, easy to use way to create a podcast feed and manage your audio files, give Loudblog a try. Other blogging platforms can handle enclosures, but are usually focused on managing text content. [Via Chris Pirillo]

Being new to the podcasting sphere, I'd like to know how this would compare to something like Audacity?

Hi Willy, to my knowledge Audacity is a sound editing applicaton, whereas Loudblog is a content management system (i.e. a website) to use to manage your sound files and offer them to listeners. I haven't used Audacity for a couple of years, so there may be additional podcasting support included that I'm not aware of. I hope this helps.

Yeah, it helps. They're very, VERY different. Thanks for the information. I'll check out Loudblog.

One could outline, that Loudblog does makes a perfect Itunes compatible feed, including a different rss image feed and an itunes cover art plus you can select the category tag.
As many podcasters don't want a blog but "that something which brings my podcast to the people!", loudblog is a very good solution.
Also most of the listeners like the out of the box working flashplayer which can also be modified to suit the design needs. Yes, normal blogsoftware can do so also, but with much more effort.
If you would like to see that in work, you can not only visit the loudblog page but for example sushiradio.com which is designed by Gerrit himself.
