AOL releases beta of new AIM, "Triton"
AOL has released a beta of the new version of AIM, codenamed "Triton." The new version features an improved away message interface, an integrated video player, and video editing features (?) for video chat. AOL is also considering adding calling and recieving calls from ordinary telephones to its VoIP offering, either for free or for a small fee. What's more AOL will be starting a developer in August to allow anybody to create plugins and extensions for AIM.
And yes, it still has ads.

I got it. Its really neat. Very slick,. And AOL has gotten rid of the banner ad on top of the buddy list, HOWEVER there are now (minimizable) ads on top of every message window. Plus tabbed messages, and probably more, I just got it. Check it out, it definatly looks really good.

In order to disable the ads in every IM, go to "edit, settings, ads" And switch it to "show ad in buddy list" and it will only show the ad like regular aim, at the top of your buddy list.
So far, I like it.
