No more Java apps for Apple?

applejavaWhat heresy is this? OSNews reports on the appearance of technical docs over at Apple indicating they are dropping support for the Java API. Actually, it's just the Cocoa-Java bridge. Apparently any future OS features (like right-clicking on a song to add it to your iTunes, right) will not be available to Cocoa-Java. Mountain or molehill?

Not that many apps are written using this, but I use Cyberduck quite a bit, and it's using Cocoa-Java. I would think it's not too hard to move on up to real Cocoa and Objective C though, right? Apple thinks you should.

The most relevant post indicates that, in point of fact, most Java apps are written in Swing anyway. And begs the question, what of WebObjects? It went from a $50,000 product to free with every box of Tiger. Personally I think everyone should use CocoaSharp. Get with the times.
