Google Toolbar for Firefox released, other extensions join the party
As expected, Google rolled out Google Toolbar for Firefox today, which can now be downloaded. Unexpectedly, though, they've released two other extensions as well: Google Send to Phone, which allows you to send snippeds of web sites as text messages, and Google Suggest, which adds the suggest-as-you-type functionality of services of the same name to Firefox's Search box.
Google Send to Phone is interesting, because all it does is send you (and the text you've highlighted) to this page, which makes for easy semi-anonymous text-messaging. The whole thing could easily have been accomplished with a bookmarklet rather than an extension, but I suppose having the cell phone icon in your toolbar is kind of neat.

This is great because it has spell check built in too! So far, I'm impressed. :)

Today I released CustomizeGoogle 0.21 for Firefox with the following features:
- use Google Suggest when you search
- add links to competitors ("Try your search on Yahoo...")
- rewrite links to point straight to the images in Google Images
- remove image copying restrictions in Google Print
- secure Gmail, switch to https
- anonymize your Google userid
- remove ads (disabled by default)
- add counter in search result
- add link to WayBack Machine (webpage history)
- remove spam from search results
- 6 locales: en-US, sv-SE, de-DE, it-IT, tr-TR, ja-JP

google has done it again, too bad this is for US only, so i went on to find some other way and i saw zyb at http://www.zdnet.com.au/downloads/0,39024478,39125142s,00.htm . this one is all over the world
