Browser Tip of the Day: Never lose a long post again with Scribe
It's happened to most of us: You're writing a long blog entry, e-mail, or forum post when you accidentally close the tab or your browser crashes (or worse still, your session times out) and you lose the whole thing. Unfortunately the adage "save early and often" doesn't work on the web because web forms don't always have Save buttons. You know where I'm going with this: Scribe is an extension for Firefox that adds a Save option to your File menu and also binds the familiar Ctrl+S shortcut to let you save what you've entered into web forms (P.S. Why doesn't Gmail have a keyboard shortcut for Save Draft?). Scribe will save the entire contents of the form, not just the textarea you're working in, so nothing is lost. The one feature that Scribe lacks is autosave, for those who haven't yet adopted Ctrl+S-every-two-minutes as a vital survival skill.

I use the Session Saver extension to make sure I don't lose my work. It automatically saves what you're working on (including form fields) when you close a window or tab without having to remember to choose "Save." It also saves any open tabs. It been a BIG help for me.
